Mediclinic and ER24 are proud to be the official medical partner of the Absa Cape Epic
This year’s event makes use of 3 race villages in and around Cape Town and the Cape Winelands area, seldom moving far from major municipalities in what they have titled “The Urban Edition’. The 2025 Cape Epic route will cover a total distance of 608km with 16 500 metres of climbing.
Mediclinic is proud to introduce the partnering facilities that will support the riders across the 2025 route. Each facility has fully participated in preparations for the event, engaging with key specialists to support any potential injured riders across the event. These facilities include:

“Our highest priority is the health and safety of every rider as we join them on the exciting journey. This race places high demands on riders as they put their bodies through their paces. Our goal is to support and help each rider far as possible to ride their best race ever, but in circumstances where this is not possible, Mediclinic and ER24 are here to ensure that the most appropriate emergency medical care is provided to all participants,” explains Dr Darren Green, Medical Director for the Absa Cape Epic, and head of Mediclinic Corporate Events team.
The Mediclinic Race Hospital is customised for the challenging multistage event and easily accessible in every race village. The medical support team is hand-picked providing specialised skills in both emergency and sports medicine while offering high care/ICU capabilities on site. The highly skilled medical bomb squad of qualified doctors and nursing teams able to assist with anything from the saddle sores, soft tissue muscle strains, and wound care to the more serious medical conditions such as heat related illness, dehydration as well as gastro-intestinal and renal issues.
