A dedicated multidisciplinary team under the leadership of an orthopaedic surgeon cares for more than 400 patients per annum. The rehabilitation centre offers acute functional rehabilitation to patients disabled by spinal cord injuries, traumatic head injuries, strokes and other disabling conditions such as total or partial limb amputation and post-surgical joint replacement rehabilitation. Patients are assessed through a rehabilitation outcomes management system based on the international classification of functional disability and health (ICF).
The "Orthopaedic and Neuro Centre of Excellence" offers an on site, one-stop service, from acute emergency care after injury, through to eventual rehabilitation and post-discharge follow-up care, by a multi-disciplinary medical team.
The Centre of Excellence includes the Mediclinic Muelmed Rehabilitation Centre. It offers acute functional rehabilitation to patients disabled after spinal cord injuries, traumatic head injuries, strokes and other disabling conditions such as total or partial limb amputation and post-surgical joint replacement rehabilitation. The aim of the rehabilitation centre is to support patients to reach their maximum independence after these disabling injuries.
