In recognition of the recent World Arthritis Day, Winelands Muscoskeletal Support Group held a gathering of over 200 people at the Protea Hotel in Stellenbosch. The theme for this event was “Connect today and tomorrow: the campaign continues”.
Winelands Rheumatology is a practice that believes in supporting their patients, as these chronic diseases often require lifestyle management and support over the long term. As part of the evening a number of doctors presented advice on symptoms, nutrition and their vision for improving the care for patients.
A holistic team approach was emphasised, which includes rheumatologists, orthopaedic surgeons, occupational therapists, rehabilitation experts, and sports and exercise methodology all as part of their integrated service in treatment of muscoskeletal health and autoimmune diseases.
