Our upgraded unit will offer a range of dialysis therapies, including Chronic Haemodiafiltration, Chronic Haemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis treatments.

The Mediclinic Renal Services team also continue to offer all the in-hospital acute treatments that are required at an institution of the calibre of Mediclinic Pietermaritzburg. Included in these treatments are Acute Haemodialysis, Acute Haemodiafiltration, Continuous Renal Replacement therapies and Therapeutic Plasma Exchange.

Being located on-site at the Mediclinic Pietermaritzburg, places us at the cutting edge of time efficiency when acute or chronic treatments are required with an unmatched doctor prescription to patient connection time.

In July 2021, Mediclinic Pietermaritzburg Renal Services opened their doors with 6 treatment stations together with our Medical Director, Dr Mitesh Singh, as our referring Nephrologist.Our team, and our patient base, have grown to such a degree that Mediclinic Pietermaritzburg has identified the need to move to a larger, more comfortable  facility where 14 patients can receive treatment simultaneously, 3 times  day, 6 days a week. .

This growth has been the result of a team approach with our dedicated and committed Nephrologist, referring Specialists, our Unit Manager Ivana Maharaj, specialised renal Professional Nurses, Graduate Nephrology Clinical Technologists, and the support of the entire Mediclinic Pietermaritzburg hospital team under the leadership of Mr Meshach Naidu.

The Mediclinic Renal Services unit is equipped with world class Haemodiafiltration machines, and our patient outcomes attest to the highest standard of care and the dedication of the team.

Mediclinic Renal Services have also launched a digital electronic record system, Nephroflow, where our patient’s data is recorded in real time and is immediately accessible by our referring doctor.

Our goal at Mediclinic Pietermaritzburg Renal Services is to deliver Dialysis with a Difference, and patient safety is a vital element of this unrelenting focus.
