The Clinical Facilitator plans and facilitates identified training and development interventions to ensure staff competency. They can be allocated to a specialist unit (e.g. the ICU) or work across the nursing units of a hospital.

Essential Education

• Professional Nurse qualification and Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing Education, and registered with SANC as Assessor and Moderator, and   
• Postgraduate Diploma in a Nursing Speciality (e.g. Perioperative Nursing) if allocated to a specialist unit

Minimum Experience

• 3 years Professional Nurse experience in a hospital
• 1-year mentor experience

The Educator presents and facilitates Higher Education and Training programmes and courses to Mediclinic students and employees to acquire competence as independent healthcare practitioners. They provide both classroom and practical staff training.

Essential Education

• Professional Nurse qualification

• Postgraduate Diploma in a Nursing Speciality, e.g. Critical Care Nursing (if appointed as a specialist educator)
• Masters Degree in Nursing

• 5 years experience in a Higher Education training institution
• 1-year experience in managing a training institution

Essential Education

• B-degree in Nursing
• Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing Education

Minimum Experience

• 5 years of clinical experience
• 2 years experience in a learning and development environment

Job Description

The Manager: Higher Education & Training provides, directs and leads Higher Education and Training, the learning centres, nursing and emergency medical care procedures, CPD and life support training across Mediclinic.

Essential Education

• Masters degree in Higher Education or Health Sciences
• Postgraduate Diploma in Education
• Postgraduate Diploma in Administration/Management
• Degree in Healthcare Science, e.g. Nursing

Minimum Experience

• 5 - 8 years higher education experience
• 5 - 8 years as a manager in a higher education institution
• 5 - 8 years experience in healthcare
