Dr Tsela began her medical training at MEDUNSA and completed it at the University of the Witwatersrand. Her interest in Nephrology was sparked during a rotation in the renal unit during her Community Service. She has a special interest in Clinical Nephrology especially autoimmune diseases. Dr Tsela provides nephrology services  in a number of dialysis facilities including one in the Kingdom of Eswatini, her country of origin.

Dr Tsela sits as a Director of both Happime (Pty) Ltd and its foundation. The Happime Foundation supports young girls from disadvantaged backgrounds by supplying them with Happime sanitary pads and education on menstrual health management.
