The National Department of Health has confirmed that Mediclinic will play a further role in phase 2 of the COVID-19 vaccine roll-out through the operation of additional vaccination sites within our hospitals. We are currently operating ten vaccination centres across the country, offering the Pfizer vaccine. This will be expanded to include thirteen additional sites offering the Johnson and Johnson vaccine.
Our vaccination centres are operating an appointment basis, to ensure that those allocated to our facilities by the EVDS system are prioritised and that there is sufficient stock for these individuals.
Mediclinic believes that it is vital that all elements across the healthcare sector work together to support the National Department of Health’s roll-out and ensure the successful distribution to all communities in our country.
The thirteen additional vaccination centres that will commence with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine within the coming week include:
- Mediclinic Cape Town
- Mediclinic Constantiaberg
- Mediclinic Durbanville
- Mediclinic Ermelo
- Mediclinic Hermanus (pending availability of vaccines)
- Mediclinic Limpopo
- Mediclinic Louis Leipoldt
- Mediclinic Nelspruit
- Mediclinic Paarl
- Mediclinic Tzaneen
- Mediclinic Winelands
- Mediclinic Welkom
- Mediclinic Worcester
These vaccination centres will become operational in collaboration with the National Department of Health as additional vaccines become available and deliveries are scheduled. We will continue to expand our efforts as additional vaccines become available, and according to requests from the Department of Health.
Mediclinic is proud to play a part in the public phase of the roll-out as well as completing the vaccination of our own healthcare workers.
